How To Refactor Your Code Using Eclipse

I’ve never spent much time learning about refactoring and decided to do some research on refactoring in Eclipse. I did this the other day for a few reasons including:

  • I was curious on how I could improve my code structure.
  • I was wondering how I could utilize the Eclipse refactoring tools to save time.
  • I just wanted to have better quality code in the least amount of time possible.

I learned a lot about utilizing the refactoring  tools built into Eclipse. Through my research and practice using them I realized just how powerful and amazing they can be.  I would like to recommend this article “Refactoring for everyone How and why to use Eclipse’s automated refactoring features”.

Reading this article and/or doing research about refactoring features in Eclipse will be a big boost to your programming productivity.

Just Another Crazy Week

Wow, this past week despite being a 4 day work week has been really crazy. I finally got my most recent project in and working despite breaking development server on Thursday for a few hours. I’ll tell you one thing from experience. Whenever anything goes wrong it happens all at once. Things eventually get fixed and working through much stress and aggravation to solve the problem.

Anyway on a positive note things are looking better at my apartment. This is a view of downtown (Uptown as it’s called) from outside my front door.

3rd Week And Counting!

I just started my 3rd week at my new position with a large financial company here in Charlotte. It’s hard to believe a few months ago I was still working in Florida and optimistic about my contract. If I’ve learned one thing from the last position is to start networking while you still have a job. It’s way easier to do the grunt work while you still have a job. All you need is to get a few contacts each day (or whatever timeframe suits you.) The key is to just be consistent and build a large network. LinkedIn is great for this.

I just moved into my new apartment in the city on Friday. It’s by far the coolest and nicest apartment I have ever lived in.  It’s so close to everything. There’s a ton of places to walk to within 15-20 minutes. It’s alot different than suburbia where I used to live. Although it’s still close enough to the big stores and chains if I want to go to them.
